Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 @ 11:41am
Debra Messing still recalls the hurtful stories about her as she tried to lose her baby weight.
"It was written about in the tabloids a lot," the actress, 40, says of her post-baby body in the January issue of Shape magazine.
"On one page it showed all the actresses who got skinny in six weeks or less, and on the other page was me! I was so depressed and frustrated."
The Will & Grace star, who gave birth to son Roman in 2004, first tried a physical trainer but the demanding workouts were too much.
"I was exhausted! I couldn't work out three hours a day and do my job as a mother and an actress. So I took the pressure off: I cut back on seeing the trainer but started eating healthier."

Find Out Melissa Joan Hart's Secret For Staying Fit After Pregnancy
Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 @ 10:16am
Between potty training her first son and giving birth to her second, Melissa Joan Hart has had a busy year as a mom.
"It's a constant workout," the ex-Sabrina, the Teenage Witch star tells PEOPLE of taking care of her sons Mason, 3, and Braydon, 8 months. That's why she's been able to stay post-pregnancy fit, she says.
"You don't have time to eat because you're chasing them all the time!" she said Friday at the Jonas Brothers launch of 77 Kids by American Eagle in Los Angeles.
"You kind of lift them in the car seat, out of the car seat, in the highchair, out of the highchair." Luckily, she says, her eldest has been making the transition easy with the latest family member.
"He's a great big brother," says Hart
"He's just getting to the stage where he kicks [Braydon] when he walks by him. But for the first eight months he's been a dream." The 32-year-old actress and her husband, Course of Nature band member Mark Wilkinson, welcomed Braydon Hart Wilkinson in March, and so far things are "great" – silly moments and all. "Because he's teething he sticks his tongue out all the time," she says.
"We took family photos yesterday for our Christmas card and he just kept sticking his tongue out. It was really bizarre, but cute."
The Fall Power Foods You Should Be Eating
Monday, November 17th, 2008 @ 10:01am
Sweet potatoes This Thanksgiving side is high in potassium, which has been found to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke, says Heidi Skolnik M.S., CDN, FACSM, president of Nutrition Conditioning and consulting nutritionist to the School of American Ballet. When eaten with the skin on, they deliver a lot of fiber, too.
Beets Beets tend to be right up there with brussels sprouts on the foods-from-your-childhood-you-won’t-touch list, but it’s time to give them a second chance. For one thing, they’re sweet and tasty. But more important, they’re high in folate, fiber, vitamin C, iron and more. They may even prevent colon cancer, so eat up!
Mushrooms Try sliced mushrooms next time you’re hunting for a snack, says Marissa Lippert, R.D. One cup is only 15 calories! Plus, they’re high in selenium, a powerful antioxidant, which can help prevent damage caused by pollution and cigarette smoke.
Turkey Choose turkey over prime rib at the holiday buffet this season and you could stave off that winter cold. The white meat is filled with immune-system-boosting nutrients like zinc and B vitamins, says Dr. Pratt. And a five-ounce serving of skinless white meat is only 193 calories.

Angie's super-fun way to break a sweat. The sexy mama looks amazing, so of course we want to know what's she's doing to stay fit, and the answer sounds like a lot of fun. According to some reports, Angie likes to use the Nintendo game console Wii to burn calories. Her favorite, some say, is the "Let's Pilates" game, which she reportedly uses three times a week. Sounds like fun to me!
How many of you already love Wii?
