Women Making Their Child(ren) Fat
Tuesday, December 30th, 2008 @ 2:30pm
In a recent article from FemaleFirst, child obesity may be able to be prevented before birth. Susie Orbach, a leading food campaigner, has been trying to tackle child obesity in primary schools, suggesting that the problem starts with the mother.
"Mothers themselves are troubled by erratic eating, fear of food, preoccupation with body size, frequent dieting and bingeing"
She says that if women learn to control their own eating habits, they can set a better example for their children. However, mothers often use food as an incentive to reinforce good behaviour from children, and children tend to mirror the eating habits of their parents.
She added: “It shouldn’t surprise us that when children become independent eaters they reflect what they have learnt [from their mothers], not only in their eating choices, but in the emotional feelings of safety, anxiety, fear, pleasure or satisfaction that go with food."

Overcome Exercise Pregnancy Obstacles
Friday, December 26th, 2008 @ 7:43am
Pregnancy can give you so many different symptoms making even the easiest exercise like walking difficult - BUT, Fit Pregnancy gives you no excuses and ways to overcome those annoying symptoms (nausea, back/hip pain, frequent peeing, swollen ankles, exhaustion, etc.) in order to exercise!
Solutions Pay attention to when you get heartburn and how long it lasts, and schedule your workouts around it. This pattern may change as your growing baby begins to crowd your abdominal cavity, pushing stomach acids back up into your esophagus. To keep that burning sensation and sour taste in check, eat small meals, drink plenty of fluids, and steer clear of spicy, greasy and fatty foods. Also, avoid lying on your back as much as possible. Ask your doctor if you can take chewable antacids or other medications before you work out. Experts also recommend consuming papaya or papaya extract and drinking milk with honey stirred in, a remedy that Weiss says "can bring a forest blaze down to a mild campfire."
Exercising while you're pregnant is an important component in prenatal care. However, PLEASE pay attention to these symptoms you SHOULDN'T ignore while exercising.

But here's the catch, her son is two-years-old! That's right, she revealed that she still breast feeds her son, Hermes, and she isn't planning on stopping anytime soon. Rutherford says,

Angelina Jolie's Hot Mama Photo Shoot
Friday, October 10th, 2008 @ 10:10am
If you thought you had seen all there was to see of Angelina Jolie, think again. In a stunningly intimate photo spread in the upcoming issue of W magazine the mom of six gets up and close and personal with private snaps taken by partner Brad Pitt, including one of her breastfeeding on the cover of the mag.
"Angelina posed for Brad in one of the photos while breastfeeding. It's really beautiful and tastefully done," sources who have seen the photos told Life & Style magazine.
Jolie reveals in Sunday's issue of Parade magazine that she and Pitt have a long road ahead.
"I don't want to spend my life pretending to be somebody else, and I don't want the person next to me to have to pretend ever, because we have a long life ahead of us," Jolie explains.
"So you just want to be able to be who you are in every moment, and that's the only way you'll ever be truly happy."
Constance Zimmer Reveals Her Tips To Her Post-Baby Body
Monday, October 6th, 2008 @ 8:19am
As other hot Hollywood mamas can attest to, being a mother can be a joy – and a pain, when it comes to shedding those extra pounds gained. But Entourage's FitCeleb Constance Zimmer shared a few tips with OK! magazine that she's learned since giving birth to her daughter Colette Zoe last January.
"I did a food program that’s called Fresh Mommy, which is all delivered organic food that’s really good for you," she told OK! Thursday night at an event celebrating Tommy Hilfiger's Ironic Iconic America special on Bravo in Beverly Hills. "You need to eat so much food after you have a baby to breastfeed, so it’s all about portion control."
Exercise also played an important part in her journey back to her fit bod, she reveals.
"I walked a lot. I wore a weight vest when I walked, so it was an added four pounds of weight every time I walked," she says. "It’s been eight months. This industry doesn’t give you any time to take off the baby weight. It kind of has to happen right away."
Despite having to work hard to regain her pre-baby body, Constance says being a new mother was a big change.
Pregnancy Nutrition Myths Busted
Saturday, October 4th, 2008 @ 8:39am
You can put all those pregnancy nutrition myths to rest. Here are some tips and tricks from Health magazine's resident dietitian, Julie Upton, RD.
Myth: “I can eat I want when I’m expecting; it’s the one time I really don’t want to worry about my diet.”
Fact: You’re no longer "eating for two" as the old statement goes. In fact, calorie requirements don’t even go up in the first trimester. In the second and third trimesters, women need an average of 350 extra calories a day. For most moms-to-be, that should be 2,200 to 2,900 healthy, nutritious calories—not a complete free-for-all.
Myth: “There’s no way to get all the calcium I need naturally while pregnant.”
Fact: You need the same amount of calcium during pregnancy and when breast-feeding as you do when you’re not pregnant—1,000 milligrams per day. In fact, when pregnant, your body becomes superefficient at absorbing the mineral. However, since most of us are deficient in calcium before we get pregnant, it is recommended that we take a multivitamin that contains iron, folic acid, calcium, and vitamin D in addition to getting it from food sources.
Myth: “My doctor says I’m right on target for a 30-pound weight gain.”
Minnie Driver Shows Off Her FitCeleb Figure Weeks After Giving Birth
Friday, October 3rd, 2008 @ 8:40am
Looking svelte in a skintight workout outfit, it is hard to believe FitCeleb Minnie Driver gave birth just a few weeks ago. After sporting an enormous baby bump during her pregnancy the 38-year-old actress seems to have zipped back into shape in an amazingly short period of time. The new mom showed off her slimline figure in a black vest and leggings as she chatted on the phone outside her house in Los Angeles. Motherhood obviously suits the Hollywood star who looked happy and relaxed as she chatted and laughed on her mobile phone. Her son Henry Story Driver was born in Los Angeles on September 5th weighing a healthy 9lbs and 12oz. The star's bump bloomed to an enormous size during her pregnancy and she showed off her rounded tummy in a bikini as she took a dip in the sea at Malibu Beach in August. Announcing her pregnancy earlier this year, she said:
'Most of the women in my family get super girthy early on and I've got to say that's why I have this nice chiffon dress on. I'm fat.'
Ok, now that I see yet another FitCeleb getting back to shape in record time, I am convinced that they all have help-and lots of it! Now we don't have to be so hard on ourselves!
