“Biggest Loser” Opens Another Fitness Resort; Plans For More Products

TV phenomenon "The Biggest Loser" is gearing up for season 10, which premieres next Tuesday night, and is also getting ready to launch some new products to the public.  Since its start back in 2004, the reality show has inspired a variety of products such as cookbooks, protein powders, scales, and more.  The show also opened up a fitness spa in Utah, Fitness Ridge, where anyone can go and spend a week or longer learning new ways of eating and exercising, similar to the show (just not as intense).  The show announced the opening of a second Fitness Ridge location in Malibu, California. 

Kim Niemi, senior vice president of consumer products for the NBC said that the ranches are "a natural extension of (Loser),".  She says it’s for those who think: 

"Gee, I wish I could get this experience without being on the show,"

It’ll cost you a pretty penny to book a stay at the ranch; a one week session will run you approximately $2,295-$2,695.  (discounts apply if you stay longer)

Two new Loser-related "products" that are in the works: a Biggest Loser celebrity cruise in 2011, and a line of "fresh, packaged meals" being made available at grocery stores nationwide. I’m guessing there won’t be a dessert buffet on THAT boat.
