What is it?
· The 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games is the world’s premier event to find the Fittest on EarthTM. The three-day competition will include a men’s and women’s individual competition, a team competition, and master’s competitions for competitors age 45 and over
· Over the course of the three-day competition, athletes test their physical fitness in a series of workouts that test the ten principles of physical fitness – cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. Since fitness means being ready for anything and everything, the workouts for the event change every year and are not announced until just before the event begins
· The 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games was the final stage in the search to find the Fittest on Earth, which began in February with nearly 70,000 participants. In these finals, 46 men and 45 women will compete for the title and a piece of the $1 million prize purse
· This was the sixth annual CrossFit Games and the second year in which Reebok is the title sponsor. All 8,000 spectator tickets available for this year’s Games were sold out
