Fun Fat Burning Fitness!

Fitness!

Working out doesn’t necessarily have to be work.

Today there are great ways to help us get up, get out and get active with a smile.

It’s getting warmer, which means more outdoor activities!

Try a swim, a statistic states:

An average person who weighs 180 pounds (approximately 82 kilograms) swimming breaststroke burns about 800 calories per hour. The same person swimming backstroke burns approximately 570 calories per hour. The same person swimming crawl with light to moderate effort burns 650 calories per hour and 900 calories per hour swimming with vigorous effort. And the same person swimming butterfly burns about 900 calories per hour.

Swimming can also be helpful to those with injuries and many rehabilitation centers encourage swimming! It helps with flexibility and isn’t hard on your knees.

Go for a walk!

A rule of thumb is 100 calories per mile for a 180-pound person and 65 for a 120-pound person.

This could be a fun opportunity for you to grab a friend, family member or pet and get some fresh air. Want more of a challenge? Bring along your hand weights and get an arm workout in as well!

Dancing!

With today’s Zumba craze, it’s no wonder why people are breaking it down on the dance floor! With dancing, you can incorporate your favorite songs while shaking what your momma gave ya! Dancing can be done anywhere at any time! Just look at the look at the lovely Julianne Hough; this dancing star is proof that breaking it down can slim you down!

Oprah suggests Frisbee:

Instead of Running, which can burn 679 calories at a pace of 11 minutes per mile; try Ultimate Frisbee. It can burn about 572 calories at the same pace.
