Jeanette Jenkins recently posted on Twiiter, a video of one of my favorite exercises, mountain climbers, but with a twist that I’ve never seen before: cross rotation. Mountain climbers are a cardio core exercise, but with the cross rotation, it turns the exercise into a total body toning exercise instead of just a core exercise.
For those who have never done mountain climbers before, you may think that this exercise is simple when watching, but once you start doing it, you’ll realize how difficult this exercise actually is. To get the full benefit of the mountain climber, bring your knees up to your chest and feet as close to the same line as your hands (or as close as you can get them,) feet between your hands, not outside your hands. And make sure you keep a consistent and fairly quick tempo so you get your heart rate up. If the cross rotation gets too hard, just focus on doing regular mountain climbers. You will still be getting a great workout without the cross rotation.
Happy getting fit, all!
