Man Running Entire Length of Spain and ‘Selling’ Fat to Charity

No, Oscar Rando, a Spaniard, is not cutting the fat out of his body and selling it for charity. What he is doing is though is making a close to 2,000 mile journey through the entire length of Spain and dedicating it towards helping disadvantaged people his country find jobs after committed to getting fit.

All of Oscar Rando‘s donors are donating $3 per pound that he loses, and he as already lost 50 pounds and raised a whopping $40,000! With the country’s unemployment rate at 24%, Oscar Rando‘s efforts really go a long way. He has huge hopes for doubling his fundraising by the end of the year.

According to Huffington Post:

While Rando is pairing his philanthropy efforts with a campaign promoting a healthy lifestyle, some other runners have taken to indulging in some serious saturated fat while raising money for charity.

Talk about doing something amazing, right? Who knew getting fit could be SO rewarding for the body AND the soul? Let’s all give Oscar Rando a round of applause and a huge thank you for being so inspiring!
