Matthew McConaughey couldn’t stop crying and laughing when he had an intimate wax ahead of his role in Magic Mike.

The 42-year-old actor visited a salon for some intimate grooming ahead of his role as an exotic dancer in the film and he admits his response to the pain was a mixture of laughter and tears.

McConaughey recalled:

It was like 7:30 in the morning, I go down there, we’re in Hollywood, and I go to this little place in the strip mall. And the place is called Smile.

There’s this Russian woman in there, and she’s just as formal as you could be, ‘In the back, clothes off, lay down, turn over!’

She’s pouring this glue and stuff all over you, and you’re sitting there and you’re giggling, and all the sudden she lays something on you … and it hurts! It does hurt!

And the thing is, after every time she waxed off whatever hair she’s pulling, she says, ‘So sorry, so sorry, so sorry.’ So you just giggle through the tears and hope you only got to do it once.

Although Matthew McConaughey, husband to Camila Alves, his co-stars, who include Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, WWE legend Kevin Nash and Joe Manganiello, all had to get waxed for the movie.  Matthew wouldn’t recommend the experience!

For some women, waxing is second nature, sadly Matthew McConaughey’s experience wasn’t as comfortable for him as it is for many women. I think it is safe to say Matthew McConaughey will not be a frequent waxing junkie.
