The Sports Bra Challenge During Women’s Health Week Hosted By S.E.A.K. Foundation

Sports Bra Challenge3

Last week I attended The Sports Bra Challenge, which was held in Union Square, NY, to celebrate and embrace the body you have by wearing only a sports bra in a public group fitness class, embodying strength and confidence and being comfortable in YOUR OWN SKIN.

The day incorporated a SoulCycle group fitness class taught by the fitness programs fabulous instructors.  I had the opportunity to ride with Jenny Gaither and Ayana Curtis, who were amazing!  It was a beautiful experience to ride in the middle of Union Square with men and women coming together to support each other to overcome the insecurities and challenges we face in our lives every day.

The event hosted by the S.E.A.K. Foundation (Strive, Embrace, Achieve, Know)
, is a non-profit foundation that helps teens and young adults express themselves, feel comfortable with who they are both mentally and physically, and discover the inner-confidence and passion to achieve their goals.  S.E.A.K.’s educational resources and services include after-school programming focused on fitness, nutrition, health and other aspects of personal wellness.
SEAK is implementing after-school programs called “SEAK Program” in public and private schools throughout New York City beginning in Fall 2012.

Can’t wait for this event next year!  If you’re in the area, you definitely must at least come and check it out, even if you don’t participate.
