Sports Yoga Instrutor Gwen Lawrence Talks Proper Diet

Gwen Lawrence has some tough clients!  Being a yoga instructor to five New York professional sports teams, including the Giants, she knows what it takes to properly fuel your body with food.

Gwen says forget those crazy diet rules like: Alicia Silverstone’s bird feeding rituals, or strict vegan commitments like Russell Simmons follows, or starving yourself.  Here’s what she suggests [via Celebuzz] will help improve your health and benefit your overall lifestyle.

  • Cut out sugar
  • Avoid white foods
  • Give your body a 12-hour fast everyday (8pm-8am) – the true meaning of breakfast is “break the fast.”
  • Get regular exercise
  • Eat organic whole foods
  • Eliminated processed foods
  • Eliminated chemicals in food – avoid anything with ingredients that you’re unable to pronounce or unsure of what it is

The rewards of following a list like this:

  • Increased energy
  • Improved sleeping
  • Less illness
  • The list is endless!

Your body is a temple and how you treat it will result in how it acts.
