Thursday, September 2nd, 2010 @ 11:30am
For the first time in nearly two decades, DavidBartonGym will change its training-as-usual gym operation in an endeavor to raise $100,000 for Ovarian Cancer. Throughout September 2010, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, DavidBartonGym will launch a national fundraising campaign in each of the gyms’ cities, (New York, Miami, Chicago, and Seattle) in honor of founder David Barton’s sister, Diane, and will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and The Clearity Foundation.
To reach Barton’s goal of raising $100,000 for Ovarian Cancer in honor of Diane Barton, he will declare September 22, 2010 as “Diane’s Day” at all gyms and members and non-members will be able to train for Ovarian Cancer. All money raised from the $50 training sessions will be donated to Ovarian Cancer research. Additionally, throughout September, the gym will lower its enrollment fee to $100, all of which will go towards the cause.
“Diane Day” will come to a close with evening cocktail parties in the gyms’ lobbies, featuring trunk shows, silent auctions and additional special activities. The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and The Clearity Foundation will also have informational booths on-site to further educate guests on the deadly disease. All funds raised from the private sessions at all six gyms will be donated to both Ovarian Cancer organizations.

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010 @ 11:00am
"Twilight Saga" hunk Kellan Lutz doesn't want us to love him just for that fabulous physique of his. Kellan shared with Us Weekly that he is grateful and understands the power of his shirtless body, but he'd like to be known for other things, as well.
"Producers and studios know what sells," "It's nice to be one of the guys that can help sell a movie by taking his shirt off."
The actor, who topped Men's Health magazine's list of Best Summer Bodies, says he doesn't want to be asked to take his shirt off for the rest of his career:
"By no means do I want to be a piece of meat for the rest of my career. It's funny when you get asked to do a talk show, and then they follow it up with requesting you take your shirt off."
The actor is finding some productive ways to stay in shape while giving back at the same time. Kellan is involved with the St. Bernard Project, and just helped them to build 5 houses in 7 days down in New Orleans.
