The Color Run is just like any ordinary philanthropy run, but with a twist—chalk-like colored dust is thrown at you during the 5K! But not to worry, the dust is not harmful at all and is actually edible (although not recommended.) This event is open to all ages and every kind of speed. All participants of the race must wear a white, or mostly white, top so that the color dust comes out amazing at the end of the race. Don’t worrying about racing if that isn’t your forté; the focus of this race is to have fun with family and friends!
The way The Color Run works is that at every kilometer, there is a “Color Run Zone” at which a color is thrown out by staff, sponsors and volunteers at the runners. Every kilometer is assigned a specific color. By the end of the 5K, you will have been covered from head to toe with bright, beautiful colors. You’re essentially a walking blank canvas at the beginning of the race and a piece of art by the end of the race.
The Color Run is coming to all major cities throughout the entire country. And if you’re in the local Metropolitan/Tri-State area, The Color Run will be here in New York City on August 25th and 26th. Registration for the NYC run began yesterday, and this event is known to sell out quick so register ASAP!
You can also sign up as a team, although everyone on the team must register individually. A team consists of 4+ individuals. For more information, to register at a city closest to you and to be part of one the coolest runs around, visit http://thecolorrun.com/!
